apartment, mall, tonkatsu
I went down for breakfast about 10:20, to an over-easy fried egg, toast, ham, lettuce, juice, and coffee. Their house had been completely remodeled since the last time i was there, which explains why the layout didn't match my memories very well. They said it was half the size now. Also, it's completely done in wood, because that has something to do with Michiyo's dad's job. Even the bath tub is wood!
It was a rainy day. We went to Michiyo and Kazuma's apartment so she could get some clothes. I think she'd been in PJs since the baby was born, and this was the first time her mom let her leave the house. They have a great apartment. Michiyo's tomato plant, which she hadn't seen in three weeks, had some fruit on it and she was very excited.
Back home we had omurice for lunch and Kazuma took me to Bay City Mall. He thought it best to walk around with me, though i felt sorry for him. I was very slow in the stationary section at Jusco, and also a sock store. And once or twice i wandered off while he was looking at something else. But, i did get a lot of my souvenir shopping done. On the way there he insisted that although Michiyo says he just bought Christina Aguilera's CD after seeing the cover, he really does like the music. He also played for me (or perhaps it as on the radio) a song from the band Homemade Kazoku, which his friend from school is a member of.
Dinner was tonkatsu, and we ate at the low table in the tatami room. Chikako and Daniel came, and Michiyo's brother and his daughter Yuuri came, and then of course, Mom, Dad, Michiyo, Kazuma, and me (and Yuma). Yuuri ate a shocking amount for a four-year-old girl. Then after dinner she put on some false nails and costume jewelry she had in her purse. Dessert was cookies, strawberries with "milk" and watermelon.
Michiyo and i stayed up talking for a while, and i went to bed just after midnight.
