chocoblog

Photobucket
As i left the house for work this morning, i discovered a little package sitting by the door. And it was for me!! I was already running late but i just couldn't wait to see what was in it so i opened it and put the wrapped contents in my backpack, and left the box inside the porch. present

I opened the present when i got to work. Inside was a very pretty burgundy box with flowers made of ribbon, a handkerchief monogrammed with the letter "R", and a blank card from Nonnie Waller's Traditional Southern.

So i opened the box. Inside was a piece of chocolate wrapped in gold foil. star

Then i removed the golden chocolate, purple tissue paper, white tissue paper, untied a ribbon, and lifted a cover and YUM!!! The loveliest chocolates ever, much too pretty to eat!! Of course i'm going to, though!

Now i knew what was in the box but i still didn't know who it was from. I did have some suspects, but.....why was the handkerchief monogrammed with an R? This was something i couldn't quite figure out.bear, confused I actually spent some time looking at it from different angles to see if perhaps it was actually a P or an M.

Work kept me busy but thankfully i did get to leave at my scheduled time, though i was worried for a few minutes. Several of my coworkers were very sweet and left valentines and candy for everyone; i always forget to think of that early enough.

And i mean no disrespect to Ashley, Amy, and Angie -- but i couldn't resist. Happy Valentines Day Plaid, Lush, and Berry:

Amy also gave me a Kitty card (featuring her own hand-drawn Kitty on the envelope and the caption "Hello Mel") and a lovely sparkly picture frame for my birthdayheart

I walked home and as i got near, i spotted my Mom's car in the driveway. Then i thought "my mom's name starts with R! Maybe it's for her?" I was sure it had been addressed to me...but maybe i missed a receipt or a note in the box, and Nicki often sends things for the whole family to this address. But, she had already sent us all "valentines."

Finally i got to the door and looked inside the box. No paperwork of any kind.... but then i re-examined the shipping labels. Aha! The package was addressed to Melissa Rose! That explains the R. And, in small print at the bottom of the label, it told me who the gift was from (although i'd already guessed by the way it was addressed).

Mom was cooking pierogies and ravioli when i came in (which are pretty much the same thing, aren't they?) and i was glad to see her. heart Gramma thought the top of my chocolate box was a hat. Soon we had four for dinner and also cottage cheese and pickles. She gave me a red cashmere sweater for my birthday (she let me open it tonight, hehe) heart It's sooooo soft!! And such a pretty bright red, like an apple. My pictures didn't turn out but here is the cute card she gave me:

Now what's up with my poupee valentines presents just turning into much larger presents that kind of float in front of my doll's tummy? I'm going to take a shower and look forward to this question being answered, and to opening the card i got with no return address that says i can't open till February 15th. This is a very mysterious valentine's day.
